The Taskbar contains several features that allow you to manipulate the appearance and content of your networks. Below is an image of the taskbar that has been cropped. The middle section has been cut out - it contains the pop up links for the Company, Investor, and Person filters, but those have already been dealt with. This section is about the other features on the taskbar, marked by the circled numbers below.

Read the descriptions below for the four identified taskbar features.

Taskbar Feature Details
Pop up Legend
»
The pop up legend gives information about the meaning of the shapes and colors of the nodes, and the colors of the different links for all map types. There are two screens - one for nodes and one for links - and you can toggle back and forth between them.
MinLink
»
The MinLink feature is a way to adjust what defines a link between two nodes. It functions for all map types, and essentially, the higher the number, the stronger a connection between two nodes must be in order for that link to remain. By increasing the number, you eliminate the weaker links and reveal the core connections of a network. It is an especially valuable tool for extremely busy and complex maps, like those for a combined network of several large investors. You can set the number by typing it in the field, or click on the + or - icons to the left or right. Click here to see an example of MinLink in action in the Sample Map Gallery.
Email this Map
»
The Email this Map feature is a great way to share an interesting map with a friend or associate. Make sure the map is how you want it to be seen, and then click on the 'Email this Map' link. A pop up window will prompt you for the email address of the intended recipient(s), and you can add your own message, annotation, and commentary as well. A legend is automatically attached to the map image to ensure that the receiver will be able to understand what the nodes and links represent. Share your maps with the world!
Zoom
»
The Zoom feature is a good way to make the current map larger or smaller. Sometimes this can be used to increase readability, or maybe you want to format a map to fit in a determined space. The number in the field refers to what percentage size the map is (default = 100), so if you want to make it twice as big, type in 200. If you want to make it half the size, type in 50. You can also click on the + and - icons to the left and right side to quickly and incrementally zoom in or out.
