Google, Euclid, & Magma Design Automation Investor Map

This is the Investor Map for the combined network of three companies - Google, Euclid, and Magma Design Automation. Although there are three Target Nodes in this network, none of them are visible in this map view because the Investor Map shows only the investor nodes. However, the structure of this network still reflects the relationships between those three Target Nodes. The core cluster of this Investor network forms around Kleiner Perkins. Cisco Systems, Intel, Sequoia, and NEA are very connected parts of that cluster around Kleiner Perkins, and then CMEA Ventures and Sumitomo are also part of the cluster, although they are connected by much weaker links. The links connecting CMEA and Sumitomo are very thin, and the thickness of the link reflects the strength of the connection (the number of common investments).

It is important to remember that this analysis does not describe the network for Google, Euclid, or Magma Design Automation individually. However, it is oftentimes valuable to combine the networks of multiple companies (as in this example) in order to see how investors relate to each other across multiple investment networks. It is only accurate as a description of the combined network with each of those Companies as a Target Node. This means that the conclusions in the previous paragraph about which Investors play the biggest roles in the network are not necessarily true for any of the three target companies individually, but is still a valid interpretation for their combined network.
