Accel Partners, Intel Capital, Kleiner Perkins, & Sequoia Capital Investor Map
Filters: Minimum Link = 8

This is another version of the Investor Map for the combined network of four large Investors: Accel Partners, Intel Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and Sequoia Capital. However, this map is very different looking than the previous version. This map has no filters applied, as the other did, but here the MinLink feature is employed. The MinLink feature is located on the taskbar below the map type tabs and above the map itself on the LinkSViewer screen, and for this particular map it has been increased to 8, as seen in the image below.

MinLink works to set a minimum limit on how many relationships in common between two nodes are necessary in order to constitute a link in the map. This map, when viewed with MinLink=2, is a mess, and for the most part unreadable. However, by stripping away the weaker connections, you can see a more readable map that shows the core connections in the network.
There is a cluster of Investors involving Sequoia, Kleiner, and Intel, as well as other firms like NEA, Mayfield, and Comdisco. An interesting aspect of this map is that Accel is much less involved than the other three large investors involved as Target Nodes. It is less involved not only in terms of its linkages to the other three Target Nodes, but as well in terms of lacking connections to the other investor nodes that are drawn into their cluster. This does not reflect on Accel positively or negatively, it only suggests that they are more independent in their investing from the other large investors which have more incidences of co-funding with multiple other VC firms.
