This is the Company Map for the combined network of Ram Shriram and Ram Shriram. That's not a typo - the key to understanding this is in remembering that there are three distinct categories of nodes: Companies, Investors, and Persons. Ram Shriram exists both as an Investor Node and as a Person Node. His Investor Node represents his involvements with companies with regards to investment of capital, but his Person Node represents his involvements with companies as a Board Member or Management Team Member. Similarly, a Company that invests capital into other companies will have representation as both a Company Node and an Investor Node.
This network contains two Target Nodes (Ram Shriram and Ram Shriram), but neither is visible in this particular view because this map shows only the Company Nodes. The influence of both of Shriram's nodes is present in the links between the Company Nodes, but you cannot see the actual nodes in this map. If a Person or Company exists as multiple nodes in the data set, it is often valuable to map those nodes together in one network in order to see how the networks formed by their different types of relationships overlap.
This network is comprised of one cluster with a pendant. Google, Plaxo, Zazzle, eLance, and Friendster are the nodes of the cluster. They are each linked to all (or most) of the other nodes in the cluster. Business Signatures has only one connection (to Google) and hangs on to the cluster as a pendant. In order to determine exactly what Investors and People form the links between these Companies you would need to reference the Relational Map for this network.
